June Updates

We have planted our first plant! Thanks to a generous in-kind donation of 80 raised beds from an anonymous donor, we are officially growing!

Throughout June, we’ve also had several small workdays and our first maker’s space event. Our next step is filling the raised beds with soil and plants. We will need lots of volunteers at our upcoming workdays to help us accomplish this.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, we now have plenty of raised beds to start our garden!

This space is more than a community garden. Our vision is a space for people to share ideas and skills with each other. Our first Maker’s Space event was just that! Thank you to Tina Reeves for teaching us how to create a stepping stone, and thank you to Amaria Long for teaching us how to crochet!

For the month of June, we have held weekly “mosaic meetups”, where we have continued to cut the grass and clear out invasive weeds.
