The Beginning

For two years, Living Mosaic’s founder, Kristin Andris, drove by an abandoned factory, dreaming about what it could be. She imagined a place where neighbors could learn, create, and grow together, teaching each other lost skills and making the most of resources already available within the community. Eventually, she shared her dream - first to close friends, then to neighbors, and eventually to the land owner. Excitement grew, and the project sprouted roots. Kristin was joined by a talented Board of artists, gardeners, educators, and business professionals. Neighbors began offering their skills, resources, and even their soil. A 501c3 was established. A workday was planned.
